On our wanderings through the state of Washington we found a nice boondocking area just outside of the village of Glenoma, which is located roughly 50 miles south of Tacoma and 30-some miles from the eastern entrance of Mt. Rainier National Park. To get to the camping area take the exit off Hwy 12 just west of Glenoma at Kosmos Rd and make a sharp left turn on to Champion Haul Rd. About 2 1/2 miles down the road turn right to the Dog Mountain Landing Zone. This boondocking area has a parking lot / gravel area with a porta potty at the entrance, and a lower level with plenty sites near the lake. Be aware that the road is uneven and has many potholes. No trash recepticles. Cell, data and WiFi were all right with 2 to 3 bar 4G Verizon. A Discover Pass is needed for day use and camping here
