Boondocking

Boondocking at Poncha Loop near Poncha Springs, CO.

Just south of Poncha Springs on Hwy 285, right after the Poncha Pass, great boondocking spots can be found when turning on C.R XX 50. The roads are gravel and decent, except for a few potholes here and there. Stay limit is 14 days and there are no amenities. The views here are gorgeous with mountains all around. With a ($10) dump station at the visitor center in Poncha Springs, and the town of Salida with all its stores about 15 to 20 minutes away, this is a great place to stay. Verizon signal was good with 3 bars 4G. We almost maxed out our 14 day limit here and stayed at several different spots. We will likely be back here at some point but on we go: Scouting Destinations.
