On our recent travels through Colorado we found another great spot to boondock. Located about 20 miles west of Gunnison, we turned off Highway 50 on to 723 and found scattered dispersed sites with firepits along the road, most facing the river. The road itself is good with a few scattered potholes. As there are many places with (paid) camping this may be a good alternative when travelling through the area during the high season. There are no services here; This is “pack in, pack out” boondocking. Come prepared if you decide to stay here for an extended time. Verizon service was average; 3G with 2 to 3 bars. Our stay here was short and sweet, but on we go; Scouting Destinations.
