Sidetrip to Crater Lake, OR.

As we are headed from Newberry National Volcanic Monument to Klamath Falls we decide to have a little “side trip” to Crater Lake National Park.

We enter Crater Lake from the north entrance. The road that is going east around the lake is still closed we go around the west side. Bummer, since we had the idea to go around clockwise and have all pullouts and overlooks on the right hand side. Half the loop around the lake didn’t disappoint us though!

Crater Lake with it’s Wizard Island is a magnificent place, and with the nearby State Park we could see ourselves hang out here for a while.

Yet; This was just a side trip so on we go; Scouting Destinations.
