Appearing out of the boonies we make it to Cortez, Colorado; It’s time to dump, fill, recharge, do laundry and restock.
After restocking groceries in town we decide to settle in at La Mesa RV Park, located at 2380 Main Street, Cortez, CO, 81321. (505-215-0712)
The RV park is located in town, has 35 sites and simple shower and laundry facilities. The sites themselves are very plain with just a picnic table and hook-up’s.
Behind the RV Park is an abandoned and boarded up stripmall which doesn’t provide the best of views. Also we saw some wandering lost souls but we never felt unsafe.
All in all; The convenience of being in town and the ability to recharge made this place worthwile to stay for a day, but on we go, back in to the boonies.
